This May, Vespa Club Malta had the pleasure of hosting our friends from Vespa Club Augusta for a memorable four-day tour across Malta and Gozo. It was a celebration of camaraderie, culture, and a shared love for riding.
We began the event with a blessing of the Vespas by Fr. Marc Andre Camilleri, parish priest of The Basilica of Christ the King, Paola. It was a meaningful way to start our journey together. From there, we toured the southern parts of the island — Marsaxlokk, Żurrieq, Siġġiewi, Rabat, Mdina, and Buskett — stopping to take in the views, enjoy local flavours, and soak up the sunshine. The day ended with a fantastic pizz’ a giro at Sikelia Restaurant in Msida, where the pizza just kept coming and the laughs flowed freely.
On day two, we explored Valletta, visiting Piazza Castille, St. John’s Co-Cathedral, and watching the noon cannon fire from Upper Barrakka Gardens. The group then rode across to the Three Cities, with highlights including the Basilica di Senglea and Gardjola Gardens. That evening, we were treated to a traditional Maltese Fenkata prepared by our very own Chef Chris Falzon at Mellow’s in Mosta — a real feast among friends.
Our third day was dedicated to Gozo, where we enjoyed a full day of scenic riding and sightseeing. That night, we returned to Malta for a Cena Napolitana at Vecchia Napoli, hosted at Salini Resort, who kindly reserved parking for our Vespas. A full set of photos taken by Tonio Lombardi can be found here.
On our final day, we toured the Farsons Brewery for the Cisk Experience, learning about one of Malta’s most iconic brands. The journey concluded with a farewell lunch at The Chapels Gastrobrewpub, where music, speeches, and gift exchanges created the perfect send-off.
Thank You
A heartfelt thanks to our President Sergio, Therese, and all who contributed. Special thanks to Adrian, Gabriel, Mario, Joseph, and others who helped manage traffic and safety. We also thank Fr. Camilleri, Mayor Joseph Gatt, and our very own Tonio for capturing our Gozo adventure. You all made this event unforgettable.
To everyone who contributed, rode along, helped behind the scenes, or simply shared a smile — thank you. Your energy and spirit are what make Vespa Club Malta such a special community.
Now for one last time. All together… AUGUSTA!
